The 100 to Return for Season 5!

The CW’s The 100, a dystopian sci-fi drama, is coming back for season 5!

The decision to renew was a combination of things for the network. Despite the shocking deaths of Season 3 and the negative feedback from it, The 100 has a strong fanbase. This has contributed to bolstered performances on Netflix, social media, and viewership on The CW app & website.

Season 4 has also seen a turn around for the show in it’s reception. They’ve learned from their ill-timed mistakes of season 3 and are trying to move past it with stronger, more character driven storylines, geared to ensure our groups survival.

News of a season 5 will also make sure that the show doesn’t end in a terrible cliffhanger. Showrunner Jason Rothenberg recently told Hypable all about how season 4, “ends in a way that keys up the next season in a big way.”

Even Bob Morley, who plays Bellamy, teased that fans would want more of the show after season 4 because, “it definitely feels like they have so much more story left to tell by the end of the season.”

Season 5 is set to debut mid-season 2018.

The 100 airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on the CW.
