The premise for 13 Reasons Why’s second season is simple: “Hannah wasn’t the only one.”
In the first full-length trailer for 13 Reasons Why‘s second season — which hits Netflix on May 18 — introduces a new mystery that’s centered around a new threat and a series of Polaroid photos that will leave Clay and co. scrambling to survive this new mystery.
From Clay’s visions of his dead friend to Jessica being forced into silence about her sexual assault, this sophomore season of 13 Reasons Why promises even more twists, turns, and emotional blowouts that are sure to leave us grappling for answers.
This next season promises to answers to several questions: Will Clay ever get over Hannah’s death? How will Jessica deal with her sexual assault? Will the piece of trash Bryce get what’s coming to him? What happened to Alex? And so much more.

According to Netflix, “Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of Hannah’s death and the start of our characters’ complicated journeys toward healing and recovery. Liberty High prepares to go on trial, but someone will stop at nothing to keep the truth surrounding Hannah’s death concealed. A series of ominous Polaroids lead Clay and his classmates to uncover a sickening secret and a conspiracy to cover it up.”
