We’re not ashamed that we’re obsessed with royalty. Anything and everything royal – count us all over it. Maybe that’s why we’re excited over the BBC announcing a new miniseries based on just what we love – royalty.
Guess what guys – Mike Bartlett to adapt his award-winning play King Charles III into a new miniseries. We know that Oliver Chris will be playing William. Charlotte Riley will be playing Kate Middleton. Tim Pigott-Smith, who played Charles in the play will be reprising his role.
You may know that the play is all about Charles rise to the throne after the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth. Yup, it’s a fictional story.
“It’s such a unique project,” she told the BBC. “To be both modern and rich in verse and to play someone who is real but yet totally re-imagined for this story is an exciting prospect for an actor.”
We’re kinda excited to see it. We can’t wait for anything that has to do with royalty.
Charlotte Riley, is married to his hotness, Tom Hardy and we admit that is why we know her. But the actress does have quite the resume – Edge of Tomorrow, London Has Fallen, and more.
“Kate Middleton is a really interesting woman, particularly within the context of this play, and it is a challenge I am really looking forward to,” Riley said. We’re super excited for it too.
The movie is currently in production, but there is no release date. We know we will be watching.
