You know that we love a good book, so when we hear news of a good one – we want it now. Becky Albertalli (Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda) and Adam Silvera (They Both Die At The End) have teamed up to write a book and we’re loosing our collective minds.
The book tells the story of a missed connection between teens Arthur and Ben, that turns into something more. Here’s the description that was listed in Publishers Weekly –
What If It’s Us opens as Arthur and Ben meet at the post office as Ben is shipping his ex-boyfriend’s things back to him. They subsequently endure the frustration of knowing there was a missed connection, before the universe pushes them back together again in a series of failed “first” dates.
We’re intrigued, because not only is it written by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera, two publishing houses will be publishing the book simultaneously. HarperTeen and Balzer + Bray, will be publishing the books together.
“We are painfully obsessed with Arthur and Ben. We’ve been talking about them as if they’re real people for over three years,” Albertalli told Publishers Weekly.
“Becky is known for making your heart happy, and I have a reputation for tearing it out,” Silvera said. “We can’t wait to hear what readers think about where we landed.”
Albertalli writes the Arthur perspective, while Silvera writes from Ben’s perspective. We can’t wait to see how these two tear out our hearts.
What If It’s Us is due to hit bookshleves in Fall 2018.
