After Movie Sweeps Teen Choice Awards

Teens had their say, and we couldn’t agree more!

Sunday August 11 the 35th annual Teen Choice Awards aired, showcasing the top favorites in music, film and television according to teens. Celebrities far and wide converge to celebrate all things awesome, while winners are voted on by teens to show who they really want to see on top. Hosted this year by Lucy Hale and David Dobrik, in Hermosa Beach California, it was one of the best shows so far.

When the nominations were announced a few months ago, Afternators far and wide were ecstatic to see their favorite film on the list for Choice Movie Drama, Choice Movie Drama Actor (Hero Finnes-Tiffin) and Choice Drama Movie Actress (Josephine Langford). They were all up against stiff competition, including Five Feet Apart, The Hate You Give, Cole Sprouse, Noah Centineo, Lady Gaga and Lana Condor. The caliber of films in the running were some of the best of the year, and fans waited with baited breath to see who would win.

After swept it’s categories, taking home Choice Drama Movie, Choice Drama Movie Actor and Choice Drama Movie Actress, beating out all the aforementioned. While they were not present at the awards, Hero and Jo filmed a special thank you to the fans. They are currently on the set of the sequel, After We Collided, which began filming today.

Other winners on the big night included Louis Tomlinson for Choice Song: Male Artist, Cole Sprouse for Choice TV Drama Actor, Riverdale for Choice TC Drama, to name a few.
