Only a week from filming the on screen adaptation of the international best selling series, After, Josephine Langford leaves the innocence of Tessa Young behind her and steps out as a vixen.
Stepping out at the Variety Young 2018 Power of Hollywood event on August 28 at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles, Langford caused jaws to drop and heads to turn as she took to the red carpet in a black dress and smokey eyed look. Joining other young stars such as Mackenzie Foy, Cierra Ramirez, Mason Cook and more, Josephine solidified her position among stars to watch.
Some of the highlights of the night included Lili Reinhart being awarded with the H&M Conscious Award for her body positive activism, presented to her by YouTube star Tyler Oakley.
“So few influencers were actually willing to talk about their flaws and that’s an idea that I wanted to challenge and that’s when I realized how important it was to stay authentically myself: imperfect but still powerful. Being proud of who you are is a power that not all of us possess but we should all be conscious of the power we have to change someone else’s world, simply by being open about our own faults and creating a caring environment for those who are looking to share their own experiences.” said Reinhart.
The Hate U Give star Amandla Stenberg also proved the strength and positivity of todays young Hollywood, stating that from a young age she was comfortable with identifying as queer.
“I’ve grown up with the belief that being queer is okay and it’s a word that’s amazing. It took me a while to come to the conclusion that I was gay … I am so happy to be myself and to be comfortable, to be public about it.” said Stenberg.
Congratulations to all the honourees! We can’t wait to see them take 2019 by storm!
