Starz has officially ordered Season 2 of American Gods, the Bryan Fuller and Michael Green Adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s best-selling novel.
The adaptation tells the story of Shadow Moon, an ex-convict, who experiences a tragedy just as he’s being released. A mysterious encounter sets him off on a cross country road trip with Mr. Wednesday, a con man who knows a little too much about Shadow. Before he knows it Shadow’s embroiled in a battle between the Old Gods and the New ones that have emerged in America.
The eight-episode first season will conclude on June 18.
American Gods stars Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Yetide Badaki, Emily Browning, Bruce Langley, Pablo Schreiber, and Crispin Glover, with appearances from Gillian Anderson, Kristin Chenoweth, Peter Stormare, Cloris Leachman, Mousa Kraish, Omid Abtahi, Orlando Jones, Demore Barnes, Chris Obi, Jonathan Tucker, Corbin Bernsen and Betty Gilpin.
FremantleMedia North America produces the series. Bryan Fuller and Michael Green are writers, executive producers, and showrunners. Craig Cegielski and Stefanie Berk are also executive producers along with David Slade, Adam Kane, and Gaiman himself.
American Gods airs Sundays at 9/8c on Starz.
