American Gods Teases Shadow, Gods, and Mr. Wednesday in New Photos

The wait for the TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods is almost over! To help tide you over USA Today has released some new photos, teasing at what’s to come for Shadow, Mr. Wednesday, the Old Gods, and the New.

American Gods tells the story of Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle), an ex-convict, who experiences a tragedy just as he’s being released. A mysterious encounter sets him off on a cross country road trip with Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane).

Along the way Shadow learns that Mr. Wednesday is in fact the god Odin of Norse mythology. He’s embroiled in a battle between the Old Gods and the new ones that have emerged from the new way of life in America. The Old Gods, who’ve lost their power when they lost their believers, are masquerading as humans while the New Gods grow in power.

Shadow will encounter surprising returns and dangerous new faces before ending up smack dab in the middle of this battle. This new job of Shadow’s will test his sanity, faith, and reveal to him that he doesn’t really know the world he’s living in.

American Gods stars Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon, Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday, Emily Browning as Laura Moon, Pablo Schreiber as Mad Sweeney, Bruce Langley as Technical Boy, and Yetide Badaki as Bilquis.
