I am not a girly girl. I am not a tomboy – I love fashion and I love makeup, but the one thing that I hate is doing my hair.
I’ve got about 12 pounds of it. At least that is what it feels like. It wouldn’t be so bad if it was stick straight or curly – but it’s not. It’s got sections of both. It’s also a mixture of oily and too dry – because that’s what happens when you process your hair more than you should.
I will just be frank – this is what my hair looks like (and I am fully aware it’s a bad picture – but hey, I don’t take pictures).
If I am going to do my hair – it’s a mission. A 90 minute mission and WHO HAS TIME FOR THAT?
I sure as hell don’t.
So when you find those tricks and tips that make it easier for you – why not embrace them? Given the chance – I did. Thank God for the InStyler.
And guys – keep in mind that I spent 90 minutes a day on my hair doing it. Blow drying, straightening and then a curling iron. 90 minutes of hair products and brushing and a lot of screaming, “THIS IS WHY I WEAR A TOP KNOT ALL THE TIME.”
But here’s why I love it.
- It heats up quick.
- My hair is like straw – but put a little oil on my hair and use the InStyler – it’s like getting a professional blowout.
- It doesn’t pull out my hair.
- It gives my hair volume.
- It cut 30 minutes out of my hair do time.
- It cuts out the having to use a straightener and a curling iron.
But like every product it does have cons.
- It’s loud which gets annoying.
- It’s taking time to get used to it to make curls.
Overall, would I buy it? Yes. It was easy to use and I know that there is a lot more that it can do. I am learning.
I also like the fact that people look at me and go, “Erin, you got a blowout.” Now, I love my dry bar – but I am happy to get a lowkey blowout from the comfort of home.
(Apologies for the fact that I stick my tongue out in pictures – force of habit).
