Beyoncé Officially Joins the Cast of The Lion King Remake

It has been rumored for months that the Disney execs wanted the Queen Bey, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter herself to play the role of Nala in their 2019 live action remake of the popular animated film.

Disney released the full cast list of the film which includes as previously announced Donald Glover as Simba, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, and James Earl Jones who is reprising his role Mufasa from the 1994 film version, Alfre Woodard as Sarabi, John Oliver as Zazu, John Kani as Rafiki, Seth Rogan and Billy Eichner as Pumbaa and Timon, and Eric Andre, Florence Kasumba and Keegan-Michael Key as the hyenas – Azizi, Shenzi and Kamari.




Nala is the love interest of Simba and the female lead of the film.

The Lion King will be released in 2019
