We may have to wait until midseason for Black Lightning but with our love for DC shows you know we can’t wait.
Kyanna Simone Simpson has joined the cast of The CW show, which comes from Salim Akil, Mara Brock Akil and Greg Berlanti. Hey, you know that if it’s a Greg Berlanti show, it’s going to be really damn good.
If you aren’t familiar with Black Lightning, centers on Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams). He made his choice: He hung up the suit and his secret identity years ago, but with a daughter, Jennifer, hellbent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend Black Lightning.
So who will Simpson play? She’s going to be playing, Kiesha, best friend of Jennifer Pierce, who is played by China Anne McClain. Both attend Garfield High School, and Jennifer is the principals daughter. Keisha is the daughter of Inspector Henderson, played by Damon Gupton.
Kyanna is a new talent on The CW, which we’re thrilled for. Doesn’t bother us that The CW brings their talent from show to show, but we always love the chance to get to find out about new actors.
Black Lightning premieres in 2018.
