Blair Underwood Returns for Season 3 of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D’

Amongst all the casting news for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Marvel has just announced that Blair Underwood will return to the role of Andrew that he played in Season 2.

Andrew Garner, Underwood’s character, was a professor of psychology at Culver University and the ex-husband of Agent Melinda May. In the season 2 finale, it was revealed that Melinda and Andrew had mended fences and were spending time together, and Phil Coulson contacted Andrew to help him to evaluate Coulson’s team and to judge whether Skye was ready to lead her own team of powered people.

Marvel has confirmed that Blair Underwood has returned for multiple episodes but have not revealed what his role could mean for May or how many episodes exactly. So perhaps the vacation that Melinda and Andrew took together reignited some of dormant feelings? We’ll have to wait and see.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns for Season 3 on September 29th, 2015 on ABC.
