Brenton, Brenton, Brenton… you charmer. We’ve always loved Brenton, every time we’ve met him he’s been so fun to be around.
He’s going to charm us into watching something we didn’t think we would watch.
Brenton Thwaites is an amazing young actor staring in movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and The Giver. He’s now coming to TV.
That’s right – he’s been cast to star as Dick Grayson in the new live action, Titans. Lets not even deny we’re going to try this show out, because it’s from Greg Berlanti.
What does this mean? Well, Berlanti is behind a lot of shows that we can’t get enough of – Arrow, Riverdale, The Flash – and we could go on.
But we’re not gonna find Titans on The CW. Nope. Yes, it’s coming from Warner Bros, but it’s going to be part of the DC branded entertainment digital service in 2018. So ya, go ahead and take all my money too.
What is Titans? Ya, I had to look it up too (don’t judge me and my lack on DC knowledge on this). It’s about, “a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson (Thwaites) emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire (Anna Diop), Raven (Teagan Croft) and others.”
“Dick Grayson is one of the most important and iconic heroes in the DC universe, and it wasn’t easy to find him but we have,” Geoff Johns (who is also developing) said. “Brenton has the emotional depth, heart, danger and physical presence of Batman’s former protege and the Titans’ future leader. We’re extremely lucky he’s chosen to bring his talents to this project and this character.”
The apparently went after Brenton for the project, which – hey – hats off to them for finding a hot guy that will bring in the fangirls.
We know we took a second look as soon as they brought on someone that we know, love, and would want to watch on the reg.
Will you watch Titans?
