Sometimes you go into a press room for something and end up leaving with a new appreciation for other things. That’s what happened to us during the CBS press room at San Diego Comic Con. We were there for Charmed, and yet, when we left, we were intrigued by the Magnum PI reboot and pretty darn excited about everything that has to do with Tell me A Story.
The wonder of a good interview.
Tell Me a Story is an upcoming psychological thriller series that is set to premiere on CBS All Access. The series is based on the Mexican television series Érase una vez, and it’s being developed for the streaming platform by Kevin Williamson. The series takes the world’s most beloved fairy tales and reimagines them as a dark and twisted psychological thriller. It’s set in modern day New York City, and the first season will interweave The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, and Jack and the Beanstalk into a tale of love, loss, greed and, of course, murder.

And hear stars Paul Wesley and James Wolk talk about what attracted them to the project and what we can expect:
As for Magnum PI, the reboot doesn’t exactly look like something I’d watch – I have, after all, never watched the original, but that being said, the diversity in the cast (and the answers we got) make me think this is something that may, perhaps, deserve a chance. Yes, I said what I said. Wonders may never cease.
Check out our interview with showrunner Eric Guggenheim and creator Peter Lenkov, and let us know what you think:
And, of course, there’s also Zachary Knighton’s answers. I’m telling you, this sounds much better than I ever expected. I’m as shocked as you are.
