The CW has ordered more episodes of the series, bringing it’s first season total to 22 episodes. Fellow freshman shows All American and Legacies also got three more episodes, bringing both their seasons to 16 episodes.
“Charmed,” a reboot of the original series, stars Melonie Diaz, Sarah Jeffery, Madeleine Mantock, Ser’Darius Blain, Ellen Tamaki, Nick Hargrove, and Rupert Evans. Jessica O’Toole, Amy Rardin, Jennie Snyder Urman, Ben Silverman, Brad Silberling, Howard Owens, and Carter Covington serve as executive producers. O’Toole, Rardin, and Snyder Urman created the reboot. As Variety reports, the series is averaging a 1.0 rating in adults 18-49 and 2.7 million viewers per episode in Live+7, on average doubling its key demo rating.
We here at Fangirlish have had a love-hate relationship with the reboot so far. We were very excited for it when it was announced with a latinx twist, but after the show only cast one latinx actress and continued with the storyline of making the three characters latinx – not ot mention the way the show has done nothing to show their heritage as something that means absolutely anything, we’ve kind of soured on the show.
