Yet another talented actor joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Academy Award nominee, Chiwetel Ejiofor, who is known for his roles in 12 Years A Slave, 2012 and Children of Men has been confirmed to be playing Baron Mordo in Marvel’s Doctor Strange, according to Deadline.
Baron Mordo first appeared in Strange Tales #111 and was a notable enemy of Doctor Strange. Baron Mordo and Strange were both mentored by the Tibetan sorcerer, The Ancient One, but Mordo attempted to kill his teacher. However in the cinematic version, it is not certain that Mordo will be a purely villainous character as apparently he will be a combination of many different characters from the Doctor Strange mythology.
Doctor Strange is about a neurosurgeon, Doctor Stephen Strange ,who is brilliant but extremely arrogant. After a car accident, Strange realizes that his hands doesn’t hold the keys to his powers but he discovers the hidden worlds of magic and alternate universes.
Ejiofor joins Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange and Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One in the film directed by Scott Derrickson. Doctor Strange will be released on November 4, 2016.
