Brandon Routh is Making a Return as Superman
It was revealed on Friday morning that Brandon Routh, who currently portrays Ray Palmer/The Atom on DC’s Legends on Tomorrow, will be portraying Superman alongside Tyler Hoechlin in the upcoming Arrowverse crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths. Routh previously portrayed the man of steel in 2006’s Superman Returns, making this new role a bittersweet blast from the past. As for the particulars of how DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash, and Batwoman will all intersect in Crisis on Infinite Earths, fans will have to wait until tomorrow for all of the official Arrowverse panels.
The Russo Brothers Talk ‘Endgame,’ Their New Projects, and Reveal a Trailer for ‘21 Bridges’
The Russo Brothers took to Hall H at 11a.m., right after Marvel screenwriting duo Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, to give fans a look into what they’re working on next. After teasing that they might work with Marvel again for a Secret Wars adaptation, confirming that Chris Evans remains the owner of “America’s Ass,” and listening to a video of Chris Hemsworth proclaiming Thor’s superiority over Star Lord, the Russos dropped a new trailer for their upcoming film 21 Bridges, starring Chadwick Boseman. They also discussed working on Cherry, an upcoming film about Ohio’s opioid crisis, and revealed Tom Holland will star in the project. Upcoming adaptations of Grimjack and Battle of the Planets were then announced.
‘Veronica Mars’ is on Hulu!
In true Comic Con fashion, the Veronica Mars panel this Friday came with a welcome surprise. Kristen Bell announced at the end of the panel that all eight episodes of Hulu’s revival, which will focus on Veronica solving the murders of spring breakers in Neptune, are now streaming a whole week before the expected release date. A New Trailer for ‘The Witcher,’ Featuring a Buffer-Than-Ever Henry Cavill
At their Friday panel, Netflix dropped the first trailer for their upcoming fantasy series The Witcher. Expected to premiere later this year, the series is an adaptation of the original Polish Last Wish novels, and features Henry Cavill wearing a silver wig and hunting monsters. Consider us sold!
‘The Walking Dead’ Previews Season 10 and Confirms a Rick Grimes Movie
AMC’s flagship show made several announcements this Friday. The first, that season 10 would be Danai Gurira’s last, was met with a standing ovation from fans in Hall H. They also revealed that season 10 will premiere on October 6th and dropped a trailer for the new season, as well as a short teaser confirming that the upcoming films centered around Rick Grimes will receive a theatrical release.
