While the Cruel Intentions reboot has yet to officially score a series order, NBC hasn’t given up on the television adaptation.
During a chat with reporters, NBC entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said that the project, starring original star Sarah Michelle Gellar, is still in consideration.
“It goes under the heading of embarrassment of riches,” he said. “There’s just so many shows that we have [already] scheduled or ordered.” He also said that Cruel Intentions is “a bit of an outlier for us, because there’s no other show like it in our list of genres.
“But we like it,” he said, “and we’re still discussing it and trying to figure it out.”
According to TVLine, Cruel Intentions could see a summer launch.
