‘Dear Dictator’ Trailer: Michael Caine Isn’t Your Typical Pen-Pal

dear dictator

Who knew that running a country and ruling high school had so much in common? Okay, so maybe a dictator isn’t the best person to be taking advice from. But that’s exactly what rebellious teen Tatiana Mills (Odeya Rush) does in Dear Dictator.

When political turmoil forces a British-Caribbean dictator (Michael Caine) to flee his island nation, he seeks refuge with his pen pal – that would be Tatiana – in suburban America.

The trailer teases that Caine’s General Anton Vincent won’t exactly be laying low during his stay at the Mills home. But when he’s not trying on new disguises or kidnapping teachers, he’s doing his part to help Tatiana take charge of her life – by teaching her how to start a revolution and overthrow the mean girls in her high school.

Anton Vincent might not be your typical pen-pal, but it sounds like he’s definitely got some things to offer.

The film also stars Jason Biggs, Katie Holmes, and Seth Green. It was written and directed by Lisa Addario and Joe Syracuse.

Dear Dictator will be in theaters and on demand on March 16.
