Emma Roberts Exits ‘Spinning Out’

Does anyone else remember the movie, The Cutting Edge? I loved that movie. I couldn’t wait to have a sequel – even one that I was disappointed over. And that sequel sure as hell disappointed me, if we are being honest.

But it didn’t matter, because my love for the original still shined.

I don’t like sports, but I do love television shows and movies about sports. I love the drama, the chaos, and fine, I just love the drama. I feel bad that I overlooked that Netflix has an upcoming figure skating drama: Spinning Out.

I also feel bad that I didn’t know that Emma Roberts was set to star. She’s exited the show after just signing on a little more than a month ago. Why did she leave? Well it’s because of a conflict with scheduling, and we’re hoping that it is that, and not code for something else.

Emma was set to play Kat Baker an “up-and-coming, high-level single skater who’s about to turn in her skates after a disastrous fall took her off the competition track.” Like in The Cutting Edge she finds a way “to continue her career as a pair skater with a talented bad-boy partner.”

Lily Collins is apparently in negotiations to take over the starring role.

Would you be interested in a figure skating TV show?
