It Ends With Us Is The Best Book We Heave Read So Far This Year…

27362503The thing about Colleen Hoovers writing is that you are never prepared for what is going to happen. It’s just impossible to prepare yourself for the emotional punch that she gives you – the way that she tears your heart limb from limb and you are left to pick up the pieces.

It Ends With Us is no exception. As I closed this book, the first thing I thought was, “What the fuck just happened to me?”

My heart felt as though it had felt every single emotion that I had closed down for so long.

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

“Fifteen seconds. That’s all it takes to completely change everything about a person. Fifteen”

I am still trying to figure out how Hoover crafted a story with two men that isn’t a love triangle – but is something that you can’t put words to. It’s like there are these men that you fall in love with and you aren’t sure that you are supposed to love either one, but each one presents these things to you – these pieces that make up the man of your dreams. Yet, you are left to question everything and yet it seems… you just have to read it.

This book is profound. It leaves me speechless. As I closed the pages, my heart beat out of my chest, and I curled up and cried.

There are books that change your life. There are books that resonate with you forever. The complicated relationship with parents, the things that they leave on your heart and the way that every moment changes you forever. Lily’s Mom… don’t get me started. MY HEART CAN’T TAKE IT.

“Sometimes even grown women need their mother’s comfort so we can just take a break from having to be strong all the time.”

It’s so hard to write this review – because you just don’t want to spoil this book. It’s a book that everyone needs to experience. It’s a book that everyone needs to take in. There are moments where you will want to just take it in, there will be moments where you won’t be able to stop reading, and there will be moments where you just can’t read another word.

Because this books is beauty. This books is pain. This book is everything.

This book is the best book I have read in 2016 so far. I just want to hold onto it forever.

Colleen you have written a masterpiece.

“It stops here. With me and you. It ends with us.”

Head Bitch In Charge

I work a lot. Fangirlish is my baby. I work in social media professionally and I love it - which is probably why I don't keep up on my own. I don't sleep enough and I obsess too much over my favorite things. I need to work on combing my hair more. Or at elast I need to stop dying it different colors.
