Exclusive Cover Reveal for @KimberlyDerting’s ‘THE REPLACED’

We’re thrilled to be bringing you the cover reveal for Kimberly Derting’s THE REPLACED. It’s quite stunning isn’t it?

We’re huge fans of Kim’s and we asked her if she could write up a little bit about her thoughts on the cover –

This cover for THE REPLACED isn’t the first one I saw. In fact, it wasn’t even the second, third, or the fourth version.

Thankfully, the amazing crew at HarperTeen was relentless when it came to getting this one right, and they sent over draft after draft before we finally saw this one and fell in love.

I have no idea what I did to deserve it, but I’ve definitely been blessed by the cover gods (or a really talented team of designers!). And when it comes to covers, these guys nailed it out of the park with THE REPLACED. Not only does it mirror THE TAKING in overall effect—the way the title is the design—but in my ever-so-humble opinion, I think it surpasses it. I love the colors and the composition.

So thank you, you artsy folks over at Harper, for hanging in there with me…this cover was so worth the wait!

We can’t wait to read the second installment in The Taking series – and we hope that you are just as excited as us!

Romantic and action-packed, The Replaced is the gripping second installment in the Taking trilogy.

Kyra hasn’t been the same since she returned from her mysterious five-year disappearance. Now, on the run from the NSA, Kyra is forced to hide out with others who, like her, have been Returned. Yet she is determined to find Tyler, the boy she loves who was also abducted—all because of her. When her group intercepts a message that Tyler might still be alive but is in the hands of a shadowy government organization that experiments on the Returned, Kyra knows it’s a risk to go after him. What if it’s a trap? And worse, what if the returned Tyler isn’t the same boy she lost?

Perfect for fans of The Fifth Wave and the Body Finder series, The Replaced is both chilling and explosive, with creepy, otherworldly elements and twisty, psychological thrills that will have you questioning what exactly it means to be human.

I work a lot. Fangirlish is my baby. I work in social media professionally and I love it - which is probably why I don't keep up on my own. I don't sleep enough and I obsess too much over my favorite things. I need to work on combing my hair more. Or at elast I need to stop dying it different colors.
