When it comes to iconic musicians, one person we will always put in that category is Whitney Houston. It’s hard to believe that she’s been gone a decade. The singer passed away in 2012, the same day that she was due to attend Clive Davis’ annual Grammy party.
The music mogul has been doing some press surrounding the release of the movie, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, which Davis says, “answers all the questions that the public wants to know about Whitney.” He spoke with Page Six about the last time that he saw the singer.
“I was with her 48 hours before her death,” he told the outlet.
“She was showing me what she had done in rehab,” he recalled. “How she had given up smoking, how she had cleared her throat of nicotine. And she was wanting to start going in the studio….I never would have thought 48 hours before her death, that she would pass, that there would be that horrendous, premature end to her life.”
We can’t even imagine what it’s like to look back on her life for him. He had signed the artist to her first contract when she was 20.
Have you seen the movie yet? What are your thoughts? Let us know.
