Fangirlish Book Challenge- February

For February I thought about what book to read or re-read and with it being the month associated with love I decided to go with “Finished in one Sitting”. Now it is a romance but I thought more about the fact that it is a book that I love to read rather than focusing on the romance of the book.
I started reading Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater when I just started University about seven years ago, after a few busy weeks of starting a new course at a new school and getting in the swing of things I treated myself to a morning of reading before started my work. I didn’t put it down from the moment I read the first page until I finished the last! It is an easy read and the story flows so effortlessly you feel yourself connecting to the main characters Grace and Sam.

With the majority of books with a supernatural element obviously being unrealistic, Maggie has taken the supernatural element and has given it what I feel is a very normal acceptance. OK so there are a group of wolves that live in the woods, yes those woods are literally connected to the public’s gardens and yes they did almost kill a person and then one of those wolves decided to save and carry said person to their back door! Perfectly normal. However it is the way that the wolves are just accepted in the book helps you overlook the sometimes not-normal interactions.

If you are looking for a light read that has a little bit of everything, romance, werewolves, sadness and excitement I would highly recommend this book. I would love to hear what books are on your bookshelf that had you so engrossed it only took one sitting.
