Fangirlish Favorites: Christmas & Holiday Media

By

2014 is quickly drawing to a close–but before we ring in the New Year, we’ll be reflecting on our favorite media and moments of the year. Today, members of the Fangirlish team are sharing their favorite Christmas or holiday media. Need a little holiday cheer? Try one of our picks!

Adele: Arthur Christmas

It’s such a good movie and there’s not many good modern Christmas movies out there.

Katie C.: “Santa Tell Me” – Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande’s new song “Santa Tell Me” is pretty perfect to be honest.

Erin: “All I Want for Christmas is You” – Fifth Harmony Cover

I love Fifth Harmony’s cover of “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey.

Melissa: Michael Bublé

Michael Bublé for the win!

Chloe: Doctor Who – “A Christmas Carol”

It’s a few years old now, but you can never go wrong with Doctor Who’s take on “A Christmas Carol.” It’s the perfect combination of heartwarming (fish that swim in fog! The Doctor gallivanting through time with a cute kid!) and heartbreaking (that cryogenic chamber is meant for what now?), and it features my favorite Doctor and companions.

Liz: UPtv & Hallmark Movies

I’m digging all the UPtv and Hallmark TV movies. A few weeks ago UPtv aired a Christmas TV movie called Naughty & Nice. It’s about this radio DJ who ticks off his company, so they send him to some small town to a small station where Dr. Love does her radio show. He adds a bit of flair and fun to her show. It’s a really cute movie and just really heart-warming.

Katie M.: Hallmark Movies

I’m a sucker for Hallmark movies. Really. During December, just pop on the Hallmark Channel and relax. They play movies all afternoon and evening. And they’re not so bad. My favorites are Sundays at Tiffany’s (with Alyssa Milano), The Christmas Shepherd (Teri Polo), November Christmas (Sam Elliott), and Help for the Holidays (Summer Glau).
