‘Flash’ & ‘Supergirl’ EP Andrew Kreisberg Fired

It’s about damn time.

A little over to weeks ago Andrew Kreisberg, the co-creator/executive producer of The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow, was suspended from his duties over allegations of sexual harassment, and yet, it wasn’t till today that the studio in charge of these four shows, Warner Bros TV Group, announced the decision to sever ties with Kreisberg.

To be sure, they followed procedure and rightfully investigated the claims before making a decision, but the fan outcry had been large, especially because before this announcement, the CW hadn’t even released a statement addressing the allegations.

“After a thorough investigation, Warner Bros Television Group has terminated Andrew Kreisberg’s employment, effective immediately,” the company said in a statement. “We remain committed to providing a safe working environment for our employees and everyone involved in our productions.”

At least for the rest of the season, Berlanti himself, will step in for Kreisberg in the two series the aforementioned was involved in,  assuming additional responsibilities on The Flash, where he will work with executive producer/co-showrunner Todd Helbing, and Supergirl, where he’ll work with executive producers/co-show-runners Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller.

“Warner Bros Television Group recently concluded its investigation into the allegations against Andrew Kreisberg,” Berlanti Prods.’ Berlanti and Sarah Schechter said in a statement. “We encouraged and supported this investigation, we believe and support the individuals who came forward, and we agree with the studio’s decision. Nothing is more important to us than the safety and well-being of all our colleagues — coworkers, crew and staff alike.”

What do you think about the news? Too little, too late? Are you satisfied? Do you think they could have/should have handled it differently? Share with us in the comments below!
