And the summer hiatus shocks keep on coming.
After Supergirl broke our hearts in Monday’s season finale, we once again find ourselves dealing with another heartbreak as one of the show’s series regulars has decided to return instead in a recurring capacity.
TVLine has reported that Floriana Lima has stepped down as a series regular for Supergirl‘s third season, and will now be a recurring character on the hit CW show.
“We adore Floriana and have loved working with her to tell this inspiring story,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg says in a statement. “Although she’s not available to us as a series regular next season, as she’s looking to pursue other opportunities, we’re happy she’ll be returning for multiple episodes in Season 3.”
Things don’t look too bright for one of our favorite couples, Alex and Maggie (Lima). While the season 2 finale ended with Alex proposing to Maggie (with a smile, not an answer), Lima’s stepping down from series regular status doesn’t bode well for the fan-favorite couple.
What are your thoughts on Lima’s decision? What do you think this means for Alex and Maggie as a couple? Sound off in the comments!
Supergirl returns Mondays this fall on The CW.
