Academy Award-winning actor, Forest Whitaker has been cast in the upcoming Marvel film – Black Panther, Variety reports.
Whitaker is best known for his award-winning performance as Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland, but has also played in Platoon, The Butler and the upcoming Star Wars flick, Rogue One.
It has also been announced that Daniel Kaluuya and Florence Kasumba have joined the cast of the Ryan Coogler-directed film.
Kasumba will reprise her role that she played in Captain America: Civil War as Ayo, one of the Dora Milaje, and Kaluuya will be playing W’Kabi, one of T’Challa’s confidants.
Whitaker will be playing the role of Zuri, a statesman in Wakanda and former confidant of T’Challa’s father T’Chaka and goes on to serve T’Challa.
Black Panther also stars Chadwick Boseman, Lupita N’yongo, Danai Gurira and Michael B. Jordan.
Black Panther is set to be released in cinemas on February 16, 2018.
