When we first heard the name of the third episode of Game of Thrones Season 7: The Queen’s Justice, we had no way of knowing what it would bring.
The synopsis, which reads: “Daenerys holds court. Cersei returns a gift. Jaime learns from his mistakes,” was no help, either. But then again, when has Game of Thrones ever done anything but play coy with us?
Because here it is, at last – Jon and Daenerys together in the same room. A song of ice and fire. The thing we’ve been waiting for. And we didn’t only get that from the trailer, there are actual pictures proving us right.
Not pictures of both of them on the same frame, of course, that would just be asking too much, but at least pictures of the two of them in the same room. That’s a lot.
There’s also Varys and Melisandre, Grey Worm in full armor, presumably during the attack on Casterly Rock, Jon reaching the shore before his meeting with Daenerys, the aforementioned conferring with Varys, Tyrion looking pensive and Sansa looking at Littlefinger with anything but trust.
Sounds like a good episode.
Conspicuously absent from the pictures is Jaime, who, according to the synopsis, is somewhere learning from his mistakes. Which just makes us wonder – is that where the action is really going to be during episode 3?
Either way, we don’t have long to find out.
Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9/8c on HBO.
