‘The Gifted’ Casts Garret Dillahunt as Ahab

Roderick Campbell, aka Ahab, is coming to The Gifted!

Deadline is reporting that Garret Dillahunt (Justified) has been cast in the role, and will recurr on the first season of the FOX drama.

The comics version of Campbell is a good man at first, at least until he gets a glimpse of his future as a mutant hunter in a world ruled by Apocalypse. Like any good man, of course, this sets him on a mission to change his fate, which, ironically, is exactly what leads to the future he first saw.

His story seems to be somewhat tweaked for the series, as the description provided by Deadline talks about a “a mutant researcher contracted by the Sentinel Services” with a ” morally dubious mission yet to be revealed.”

The Gifted, from writer Matt Nix and X-Men director Bryan Singer focuses on a normal couple whose ordinary lives are completely shattered by the revelation that their teenage kids both possess mutant powers.

The series stars Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker, Sean Teale, Jamie Chung, Coby Bell, Emma Dumont, Blair Redford, Natalie Alyn Lind and Percy Hynes White.

The Gifted premieres Monday, October 2nd at 9/8c on FOX.
