‘Grey’s Anatomy’ 14×4 Review: Ain’t That a Kick in the Head

Well that fast.

Grey’s Anatomy didn’t take much time in removing Amelia’s tumor in this episode. It did however help me empathize with Amelia’s character this season far more than I had with Amelia’s character over the years. I hope this tumor does go away and we get a fresh start with Amelia.

But I’m still feeling pretty iffy with her and Owen getting back together. Amelia feels like it was the tumor that brought them to marriage, but do you really think this tumor storyline would have been present from a few seasons back? Mmm, not so sure about that, to be honest.

I think Amelia and Owen should go their separate ways because they just didn’t really mesh well with me from the start. I know I’ve said a few times that Owen deserves better but I just feel like if the writers attempt at drawing these two back together, it won’t go as well to me.

Grey’s Anatomy loves to keep some storylines going longer than they should have but I just want this Maggie and Jackson thing to stoooop. Like even mama Avery sees Maggie as his SISTER. But the look on Maggie’s face when she said that caught Maggie off guard like she was shocked or something. C’mon now, Maggie.

Jackson might become extra rich now with his inheritance from his grandfather. I wonder what that’ll mean for him now. Will he take it? Will he leave it?

I’d take that money and run. Just sayin’.

Season 14 has been interesting thus far, the pacing has been going both ways for me. I’m noticing more changes with the diversity of the show which I’m loving.

As a Muslim woman myself, see woman with headscarves on the show has been putting a smile on my face. Towards the end of last season and once again during this one, we see a Muslim woman doctor in the background.

Yay for more representation! Thank you Shonda!

And on this week’s episode, we see Bailey and Richard interview potential doctors which most of them seem to be kind of awkward but then we see a woman in a headscarf.

I appreciate these changes that are happening on TV shows, and Grey’s Anatomy is doing really well at it. More diverse characters means a more understanding and open set of viewers in this TV industry.

I just had to point that out!

Meanwhile, in Meredith’s world…

This on and off thing with Nathan is making my head hurt a little too much. He loves her ,I guess, but Meredith is so stone wall with her emotions, you can’t seem to really know how she’s feeling about this. She’s so adamant in having Nathan with Megan again but it seems like Megan really believes he loves Meredith now.

I don’t know what to feel about these two. Meredith is a strong, determined and independent woman on her own. Sure she’s enjoyed having Nathan around but her feelings towards him feels so in the air for me, you don’t know what to believe.

Grey’s Anatomy continues October 26th at 8/9c on ABC.
