‘Grey’s Anatomy’ 14×9 Review: 1-800-799-7233

TGIT is finally back after that long hiatus!

Grey’s Anatomy continues on from the midseason finale where Jo runs into her abusive ex-husband Paul. Lots of emotions right at the beginning of the episode.

You can only imagine how Jo is feeling at that very moment, the pain, the fear, and everything in between after running away from this man only to see him face-to-face and he’s found you.

Let me just tell you that Jo Wilson is easily becoming one of my favorite characters on the show. The emotions that she’s going through in this episode, I just wanna give her a big huge. I think the hardest moment within this situation was that not only did Robbins look up to Paul as a SURGEON but he also got some praise from Webber, which must have been a gut-wrenching feeling for Jo because they don’t even know who he really is inside.

Ah, just looking at Paul’s face made me want to punch him. I know he’s just an actor, but Matthew Morrison sure does know how to play a cruel, creepy character that you can hate off the bat.

I’m glad the show is touching on this heavy subject that surely must be discussed about.

Domestic violence.

It’s a tough situation and it’s a very common thing that occurs in society. But bringing about awareness like this on a show watched by millions is a good idea. It needs to be talked about it, it needs to be something that everyone that is going through some type of domestic violence has something to give them hope.

I just wanted to state that out, because it’s going to be playing a role in this second half of the season.

I’m just so glad Alex and Meredith were there for Jo and being so protective. Seeing Meredith step up like that and going into full protection mode was a great thing to see. If Mere loves you, she got your back. Don’t you forget that! That also goes to Alex too. Gosh, I love that guy. You could see the helplessness and yearning for protection when his eyes come across Jo’s. He’s there for you Jo, no matter what.

We see Bethany Joy Lenz playing Paul’s finance. It’s nice to see her on screen again. I always enjoy seeing One Tree Hill alums as guest stars. Remember when Hilarie Burton was on the show for like 5 seconds?

Anywaaay, as the episode goes on, the hospital is still under the hack but is later resolved by the help of Casey the intern and Bailey teaming up. Glad to see that hack mess was resolved because I mean, how would the hospital even run its course? Talk about craziness! But I still wonder who it was that was behind it.

Jackson and Maggie…

Now, what am I going to do about y’all? That post-shower scene in their towels was awkward but also strangely hot to watch. Liiike, damn Jackson is so built!

But as their convos deepen, Maggie soon shuts it down before it can get more complicated. It’s obvious something has sparked between them but Jackson is trying so hard to make it normal, with the whole ‘I’m glad we’re not related’ hint.

Look. At the end of the day, their parents are married to each other. I mean, if they were to divorce that would be a whole different ballgame. But I doubt that will happen. I’m glad Maggie shut it down, though she was feeling something between them as well. That tinder guy interrupting the moment though, that was funny.

Grey’s Anatomy‘s return from hiatus was a good episode. From the looks of the final 10 seconds, the Paul storyline is definitely not going anywhere. I just want my girl Jo to get the justice that she deserves.
