Lawyer. Dreamer. Geek. Eternal optimist. Fangirl since the dawn of…
You hate him. You do. He’s obnoxious. And so are his friends. You’ve put up with his presence since the third grade and he still, to this day, belches like a Sasquatch. Yet, all the girls love him. Clearly they’ve lost their ever-loving minds.
Or have they?
You see, there’s this gray-shaded area between love and hate. And if you love to hate him, you legit might be falling for your nemesis. Here’s how you can tell:
1.) His manners are ape-like, but if they weren’t, you might actually think he’s cute. Like that time in PE when he took his shirt off—and you noticed?
2.) And when he flirts with girls? Do you really find it disgusting—or could you be a tad jealous?
3.) You talk about him to your friends all the time—even if it’s trash talk. It shows he’s on your mind, no matter what. And when he flirts with you—you pretend to hate it.
If, by now, you’ve established that you do, in fact, have a crush on your nemesis, what do you do? First, find out if he likes you. Guys like to claim that they’re not complicated, but the right guy can be like a good book. The cover attracted you in the first place, but what’s inside is even better. To find out how he’s really feeling, ask yourself these questions:
1.) Is he always trying to show-off, or one-up you? If so, he’s most likely trying to impress you.
2.) Does he interrupt when another guy is flirting with you? It could mean he’s a man-child, but it could ALSO mean he wants your exclusive attention.
3.) Do you catch him staring at you? He could be a creeper, but he could also be a crusher.
So, if you’re falling for your nemesis, and he’s falling for you, it’s not the end of the society as we know it. Sure, you’ll have a little explaining to do to your friends, and you’ll probably want to fess up to him before you implode with all the feels, but you will survive this. And, admit it, it’s kinda sorta romantic.
