There are really no words to describe the effect Harry Styles had while performing on the Today Show May 9. Kicking off the Citi Concert series with the popular morning show, Styles set the tone of what was to come, both for the concerts, and for his own solo career.
Clad in a rather bright pink suit (which I have to admit he looked fab in), he looked every bit the rock star, channeling a bit of old Elvis in my opinion, as he took the stage to perform several songs from his upcoming debut solo effort, self titled, to be released this coming Friday, May 12. Sign of the Times, Carolina, and even a tribute to his One Direction days with a rendition of Stockholm Syndrome, Styles delighted the crowd in a way that only he can.
It was a stark reminder that Harry Styles belongs on stage. He shifts from the quiet, somewhat introspective lad we see in interviews, to the energetic, dominating presence of a true performer. Photos and squees flooded Twitter, and I will place a solid bet that every fan has a camera roll full of pink clad Harry this morning.

A rather exciting surprise for us HS fans was also the announcement that May 15 will have us scrambling to Apple Music for an exclusive behind the scenes video series of Harry making his album in Jamaica. The clip shown, features a flurry of snip its of Harry swimming, singing, writing on an old vintage typewriter, and even cutting his previously enviable long locks.

Of course, as Styles slowly emerges from his year long MIA, questions of his writing inspirations come forward. One of the most expected questions was, of course, whether any tributes to Taylor Swift may appear on his album. The blonde singer is well known for writing about her own relationships, including her short one with Styles. However, Harry has always remained rather tight lipped about their time together.
Maybe not anymore, as he tells Rolling Stone it isnt out of the question.
“Certain things don’t work out. There’s a lot of things that can be right, and it’s still wrong. In writing songs about stuff like that, I like tipping a hat to the time together. You’re celebrating the fact it was powerful and made you feel something, rather than ‘this didn’t work out, and that’s bad.'” – Harry Styles, Rolling Stone
Could his song Two Ghosts, which fans caught a glimpse of the lyrics to during the Apple Music teaser, be about Swift?
Same lips red, same eyes blue; Same white shirt, couple more tattoos,; But it’s not you, and it’s not me,; Tastes so sweet, looks so real,; Sounds like something that I used to feel,; But I can’t touch what I see; We’re not who we used to be,; We’re not who we used to be; We’re just two ghosts standing in…
I guess we will have to wait and see, or hear, to figure it out for ourselves. Styles is never one to kiss and tell, as we know.
