Harry Styles Shortlisted for LGBTQ Advocacy Award

Harry Styles makes it no secret that he is an avid supporter of human rights in every form. From Black Lives Matter, LGBTQ, #metoo and more, he has shown his support for countless human rights battles over the years in various ways. Pulling flags on stage, stickers on his guitars, or pictures on his Instagram account, he is not shy to show people he has their back.

So, it is no surprise that Harry has been shortlisted for an LGBTQ Advocacy Award. Gay Times owner James Frost explains that Styles, along with fellow nominee Lady Gaga, have blazed the way for those within the community. The awards are meant to pay tribute to prominent members of the LGBTQ community and its outside supporters, by recognizing those who have promoted its cause and made strides towards equality.

Frost was quick to praise the nominees.

“Everyone on the shortlist should be immensely proud of the positive impact they’ve had on the lives of LGBTQ people.  The Gay Times Honours are unique because they recognize people and organizations from across public life who have blazed a trail for the LGBTQ community, as well as the individuals and organizations who have worked hard to advance LGBTQ rights.  We’re incredibly excited about the forthcoming ceremony and welcoming all of those on the shortlist to celebrate and reflect just how far we have come as a community.” – James Frost, Gay Times
