It is the night many fans have been dreading; the night where Harry Styles takes his final bow on his solo world tour. July 14, 2018 at the Forum in Los Angeles, singing to a sold out crowd Styles did just that.
Kicking off the tour in September in London, more than 80 shows across the world, playing to hundreds of thousands fans, Styles embarked on a life changing experience. After five successful years as part of One Direction, the band decided to take an indefinite hiatus to try their hands as solo projects. Styles released his self titled album in 2017, the uber hit ‘Sign of the Times’ beckoning fans into his newest adventure.
This tour has been an experience in itself, even for fans who havent been able to attend one of the incredible shows. Thanks to the age of the Internet, live streams, endless photos and accounts of the interactions filled our timelines and made us feel like we were a part of the thrill with each and every show. Harrys banter, his kind and encouraging support of all fans, and his endless love made his shows a ‘safe place’ for anyone. Styles is a vocal supporter of LGBTQ, Black Lives Matter, and ending gun violence, all of which have stickers of support on his guitars during the shows. Often he took a moment to tell fans that they are loved, no matter who they love or who they are, storming the stage with rainbow flags and more.
Styles fashion choices during this tour have made just as many headlines as his vocal abilities, and his partnership with Harry Lambert was well suited for the formers unique and expectation bending style. From jumpsuits, to boleros, to shimmer and stones, Styles was a sight at every event.
Bringing this era to an end was an emotional experience for those in attendance, and even those watching from their screens for accounts of the show. It seems that Styles was just as emotional about the closing show as the fans. He could be seen subtly wiping tears from his eyes, staring out into the crowd with a sense of awe.
“I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have changed my life. I love you so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he added. “I’m gonna go away for a little while and make some more music, and then I’ll see you very soon. It’s been an honor to play in front of you every night … and thank you for trusting me by coming to a concert at all. Thank you.” – Harry Styles
Styles seemed to be reluctant to leave the stage as the show came to a close, singing fan favorite and concert closer ‘Kiwi’ THREE times. While obviously exhausted, he was relishing in the moment and seemed to want to make it last forever.
Among the fans were celeb friends including Kendal Jenner, Meghan Trainer, and Shawn Mendes.
We want to congratulate Harry Styles on such a successful and well deserved tour. While we cant help but cry at the idea of him disappearing from public life for a while, we hope he takes the break he needs and cant wait to see him return to his second home on stage.
