San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). Home of the geek. Land of the cosplay and panels on your favorite shows, movies, comics, and books. One of those shows that we’re looking forward to is The CW’s iZombie. Having just finished it’s 3rd season we’ve got plenty of questions on what’s going to happen to Liv, Major, Ravi, and the rest of the gang, now that the secret is out. And since we can’t build a time machine to the future and watch season 4 now, here are five questions we’d love to have answered at SDCC!
1. Where are Liv’s mom and brother?
With the zombie secret out, there’s no reason to keep Liv’s mom and brother out of the story. We’d like to know where they’ve been and how things are going to change now that they know why Liv changed her profession and why she didn’t want to donate blood to her brother. Even though their presence was small in previous seasons, their influence was notable and affected Liv greatly in her day to day activities when they disappeared. It’s going to be fascinating watching her trying to navigate her relationship with them with no secrets holding them back.
2. How will Major’s decision to join Fillmore Graves affect his relationship with Liv?
Whether you think Liv and Major are endgame (I do) you can’t deny that these two have a strong connection that will always be at the heart of iZombie. With Major siding with Fillmore Graves and Liv showing her displeasure for the company, it’s going to be awkward watching them trying to figure out how to be friends when their beliefs have started diverging down two different paths. For too long they’ve held back from getting together because one was a zombie and then wasn’t. Now the thing separating them is the new family/company that Major has aligned himself with.
3. Will there be a time jump?
The easy route would be a time jump. The only thing is that it’s expected. Everyone takes the time jump option and avoids the hard and grippy stuff that comes with revealing a secret as big as zombies being real. Hopefully the writers will take a chance and continue the story from where they left off, the world just changing dramatically and the humans attacking those changed into zombies. Skipping out on a ‘time jump’ is the road less traveled and the one I hope they take!
4. How will the rest of the world react to the zombie secret?
Seattle can’t be the only place slowly being taken over by zombies or with a significant zombie population. Keeping that in mind, I want to know if the world will be accepting of these brain eating humans or will they react like we expect and want to destroy them ASAP. I’m betting on the latter even if other cities were as smart as Seattle and took over parts of the government and private militaries.
5. Will Liv keep the zombie appearance or try to acclimate and hide her secret?
In the season finale Liv decided to go zombie and got rid of the spray tan and wig. But how long will that last after attacks on zombies rise and make it more dangerous to be part of Team Z? How long will she be proud of being a zombie when humans start petitioning to remove them from positions of power and jobs like the one she has now?
iZombie has been renewed for a fourth season. The show will appear at SDCC on Friday, July 21s, with a panel in Ballroom 20, from 11:15-12:15 P.M. Rose McIver, Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, Robert Buckley, David Anders, and Aly Michalka, as well as executive producers Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright, are expected to appear.
