With the hype of her upcoming album and only 11 more days to go, Kelsea Ballerini has released another track from Unapologetically. The track was released just a few moments shy of Midnight on October 20, and we’re so happy we finally get another look into Unapologetically.
Kelsea should change her last name to Sasserini instead of Ballerini. Why? “Miss Me More” is one of the sassiest songs we’ve ever heard from the singer and we don’t believe it will be her last. The song kicks off with an upbeat tempo, making you fall in love from the very start. And we thought her vocal ability couldn’t get any better but we can sense the mature level of growth throughout the track as she lets some slick rap phrases slip into her rhythmic phrasing.
Lyrically, it’s rhythmic and witty the way she slips catchy phrases that go along to the catchy uptempo of the song. Independently her and not afraid to show it is the best way we can explain the song to someone who’s never heard it. Don’t let heartbreak scare the country superstar away because this is anything but. “Miss Me More” addresses a relationship that has gone awry due to her loves controlling ways.
“I retired my red lipstick ’cause you said you didn’t like it / I didn’t wear my high heeled shoes, ’cause I couldn’t be taller than you,” she sings, listing off her partner’s demands, which has caused her to lose more than herself. After what you think is going to be a list of demands and a song filled with heartbreak, Ballerini switches the narrative and fights for her independence.

in honor of #MissMeMore coming out tonight at midnight, I want to see y’all get sassy. video your squad being the bold, beautiful, red lipstick wearing, high heel rocking humans you are…and I’ll repost the sassiest. use the hashtag #MISSMEMORE // also cheers to @janicolaisen & @katemroeder for having a wine and whine night with me resulting in this random and candid video captured by @_blythethomas.
“I miss me more / I miss my own beat of my own snare drum / I miss my own sheets in the bed I made up / I forgot I had dreams, I forgot I had wings / Forgot who I was before I ever kissed you / I thought I’d miss you, but I miss me more,” she sings with dignity in the chorus. It’s a brave, sassy and empowering song that you will want to shout at the top of your lungs more than once.
Overall, Ballerini has done it once again. “Miss Me More” is another hit that could be on radio and skyrocket up the charts. There’s nothing else like it out there today and it’s another testament that showcases the true artistry Ballerini has. She’s more than a singer but a huge songwriter that is going places bigger than the city of Nashville.
