When it comes to time travel, arguably no one makes it look more fun than our wily group of Legends on Legends of Tomorrow. They have fun, they mess up, and as we saw in the season 2 finale, they really, really mess up. But luckily, they have a great new Captain in Sara Lance who’s there to help lead them.
We spoke with Legends of Tomorrow star Caity Lotz at San Diego Comic-Con last month, where she teased what we can expect from Sara Lance moving forward in season 3 now that’s taken on a permanent leadership role as the Captain of the Waverider. Basically, she has to be the adult in the group.
“She was more one of the Legends, where it’s like, ‘Eh, let’s go to wherever and get in trouble,” Lotz said. “Now it’s all of a sudden, ‘You’ve got to be the mom; you’ve got to be in charge.”
Now that Sara is taking on more responsibility as the leader of our group of Legends, we’re going to see how Sara tackles that role. While she was Captain in Rip Hunter’s absence last season, she was “pushed into it.” But now, Sara has “more time to reflect on it” and ultimately how what she does will affect everyone else.
“I would imagine for her, kind of guilt and taking on more responsibility than she needs to has always been something for her,” Lotz said. “And I think now that might be the problem with taking on everyone else’s (problems), and if they get hurt or if this problem comes then she’s going to take all of that on. Is she going to be able to release that to continue to lead or is it just going to be too much?”
