Lessons From Trailers: ‘Ad Astra’ Edition

Space. I have long been fascinated with space, though after seeing some of the things that astronauts have to train on, I lost interest really quick. The possibility of having to puke was just not doing it for me.

But I am not the only person fascinated with space. How do I know? Hollywood continues to make movies about space. Living in it, going to it, being stranded in it… whatever. There is a movie for every option.

This week the trailer for Brad Pitt’s new space movie, Ad Astra was released and well, there are definitely some lessons to learn from this shit.

WE ALL HAVE DADDY ISSUES

Now if your parent are perfect and your Dad is a person that you can look up to, then my hands are clapping for you. But hey, no one is perfect. Daddy’s sometimes put their work first and go on 16 year missions with shit that can destroy the world. It’s life. Shit happens. Fate of the world and all.

FREE FALLING FROM SPACE IS NOT SOMETHING I WANT TO DO

Look, I am afraid of heights. I said it. But, that being said – who in their right mind wants to go outside in space like it’s a fucking oil rig and you’re just chugging along. Hard pass. I do not want to be floated. Hard pass. I have seen The 100. I don’t want to also fall from space, cause inevitably shit is going to explode.

PEOPLE  ALWAYS WITHHOLDING SHIT

Like hasn’t anyone ever heard of telling the truth? There is always something people withholding. You think your Dads a hero and then you find out that he’s actually got the . fate of the world in his hands? We’ve all seen Armageddon. We all know Dads into some shit.

LOVE AND ALL THAT

Lord, everyones in love and stuff. I mean you obviously can’t go to save the world unless you’re in love and there is something to come back to. Of course, you can’t just do something for the fate of the world. You gotta do it for your family. We all know the fate of the world is gonna end up in that persons hands.

EVEN BRAD PITT CAN’T MAKE ME WANT TO SEE THIS

Overrated actor. Overrated performances. I said it.

Ad Astra hits theaters this September.

I work a lot. Fangirlish is my baby. I work in social media professionally and I love it - which is probably why I don't keep up on my own. I don't sleep enough and I obsess too much over my favorite things. I need to work on combing my hair more. Or at elast I need to stop dying it different colors.
