It Looks Like Whovians Need To Get An Amazon Prime Account ASAP

Amazon just announced that they have signed a deal with BBCA to the exclusive rights to stream the award-winning show Doctor Who online. Whovians who read, probably already knew this deal was coming. Actually all of us, suspected it might, given how instrumental Amazon has been in making sure BBC programming was available for live streaming.

Good news for US prime members too… starting March 27th, 2016, you will be able to watch seasons 1-8 (including the Christmas Specials) on any prime compatible device, with your subscription. How very awesome, yeah?!

This is great news for non-BBCA subscribers who were crushed to find out that Doctor Who had been removed from Netflix earlier this year. Whovians searching for the most recent Christmas special and season 9, do have to wait a bit before they show up. Amazon will not make ‘The Husbands of River Song’ and its prequel season available to stream until this fall. Still that timeline is better than the wait facing fans for season 10. It will not arrive until 2017, although a new Christmas special is expected in December.
