‘Lucifer’ is Making an Encore!

You heard right Lucifans, per TVLine the two mystery stand-alones will be airing back to back next Monday May 28th, and from the looks of it we are in for a wild ride.

The two hours aptly titled “Boo Normal” and “Once Upon a Time” (oh the irony here), dive first into some backstory on Ella Lopez, and a possible ghostly ability followed by a literal AU (alternate universe for anyone who doesn’t devour fan fiction like I do) created by Lucifer’s Mom where he never met Chloe. Did anyone just shudder? God knows I did.

Originally slated for season four, which Lucifans have been campaigning for on social media, are a welcome surprise that I didn’t think we’d see till the season three DVD came out.

Bless whoever decided to throw that idea out the window, because as eager as I am to see these episodes, fans are already gearing up to trend the hashtags #SaveLucifer and #PickUpLucifer, that have been making waves to the point where “talks” are still ongoing to save the show. Tom Ellis, in addition to the entire cast, and showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich have been active on social media the past week, providing the hope this wonderful show hasn’t quite met it’s end yet.

The reactions below to Tom Ellis’s announcement demonstrate the enthusiasm and passionate following of the Lucifans and I’m crossing my fingers it’ll result in a save that’ll leave us yelling on Twitter for a month.

What do you think Lucifans? Are you excited for the bonus episodes? Do you think the social media campaign has a chance to save Lucifer?

Lucifer‘s standalone episodes will air Monday May 28th at 8/7c on Fox.
