‘Luke Cage’ Official Season 2 Trailer is A Literal Kick to the Face

The official trailer for season 2 of Luke Cage has dropped a kick right to the face!

As we have seen with Season 1 of Luke Cage this show is the perfect mix of kick ass music, kick ass heroes and humour. It’s just my kind of jam.

The trailer is a hard mix of impeccably timed action, music and dialogue. It has me on the edge of my seat waiting for the premier on June 22. There’s a lot of little moments that have my fangirl heart a pounding along with the bass. Like Luke entering amongst flames as he calls out anyone causing problems in Harlem. And it all feels so amazing and positive. Harlem will be okay because they have their bulletproof hero in a hoodie. And then Luke and us get a kick to the face via The Bushmaster!

This move has Claire Temple, Bobby Fish and the rest of Harlem worried about their protector. Now in the comics Bushmaster has been made the same way as Luke, because he has a vendetta against the man, but stronger. And the stronger part is correct according to the trailer. But considering we’ve gotten shots of Finn Jones reprising his role as Danny Rand/Iron Fist my question is did Luke go to Danny for help? We know that Danny had a similar affect on Luke as Bushmaster appears to in the trailer. Maybe this will be a more even match. Although in the comics Luke did eventually defeat Bushmaster there was a wake of devastation in Harlem between the two of them. And from Claire’s comments about Luke’s brutality and his attitude I’m assuming our morally right Luke Cage is going to go a little grey side on the matter.

This makes me even more excited for this season. And I’m curious why they left Danny out of the trailer. What are your thoughts going into Season 2? What do you hope for? And does anyone else want Claire to just get some time alone and happy with her man?
