Matt Letscher Set to Return to ‘The Flash’ as Reverse Flash

As if Barry Allen didn’t have enough to deal with in the threat of Zoom, an old foe is about to make his return. That’s right, Reverse Flash is returning this season, but it won’t be the Harrison Wells version of Reverse Flash.

Matt Letscher is set to reprise his role as Eobard Thawne aka Reverse Flash in episode 2×11, aptly titled “The Reverse-Flash Returns,” Entertainment Weekly reports.

“His impossible return to Central City puts a member of the S.T.A.R. Labs team in unexpected danger, forcing Barry to make a life-changing decision,” executive producer Todd Helbing told EW about the episode.

Seeing as the last time we saw Eobard Thawne he was very much erased from existence — thanks to Eddie Thawne sacrificing himself — we have to wonder just how Reverse Flash will return. Could it be Eobard Thawne from Earth-2?

The Flash returns Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 8/7c on The CW.
