Calling all Gladers! Maze Runner: The Death Cure is set to resume production in February, Deadline reports.
Production was suspended after star Dylan O’Brien was seriously injured on the set in March, during the first week of filming. Though production was originally set to resume in May, both that and the film’s release date were postponed to allow Dylan more time to rest and recover. The delay was likely also impacted by the schedules of the actors – several of whom, O’Brien included, have other projects in the works – and Kaya Scodelario’s pregnancy.
In any case, it seems that everyone’s schedules are now in order to restart filming early next year – around the time the film was initially meant to be released. Deadline’s announcement also mentions that production will move forward in a different location – whether that is another spot in Vancouver or a different location entirely remains to be seen.
We wish this cast and crew all the best as they prepare to reconvene on the set of The Death Cure. It should be safe to say that it will be worth the wait.
Maze Runner: The Death Cure will hit theaters on January 12, 2018.
