We know that you are probably like us and anxiously awaiting the release of Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children. September 30th seems too far away.
Luckily as we wait, Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children soundtrack is coming out and we have music from Florence + The Machine. They released their single from the soundtrack, entitled, “Wish You Were Here.”
Did Florence read the books?
“While working on this song for the film I read all of the Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children books and loved them. I imagine I looked super cool pushing 30 and visiting the young adult section in the bookshops to find them.” Florence told EW.
“It’s nice that to be peculiar is sort of celebrated in this film — a celebration of your individuality and your peculiarities as your biggest strengths,” she continued. “I was probably called peculiar quite a lot at school. I think my biggest strength came when I stopped trying to fit in.”
We’ve all been there.
The song was featured in a TV spot for the show.
“Wish That You Were Here is about the idea that love is a journey and a risk,” Florence said in a statement. “Having been on tour, I’ve lived in a sort of magical time bubble, where the days almost blend together. It’s amazing, but it comes at a cost — a cost of leaving the people you love behind for a year or two. You kind of feel like if you could sing a song into the wind, maybe the wind could take it to them in a way that you can’t with a text or a call. You just want to send your love in a different way, in a way to somehow reach the unreachable.”
We’re so excited for this movie.
