The mystery is over before it even began at CBS. The network has nixed the Nancy Drew pilot, titled Drew, and for reasons that are troubling to say the least.
According to Deadline, the Drew pilot tested well but was deemed “too female” for CBS’s schedule. Last week, CBS’s Supergirl, a female-led superhero series, was moved to The CW following a subpar freshman season ratings wise.
Deadline reports that while Drew is dead at CBS it is being shopped around by CBS TV Studios.
Drew stars Sarah Shahi as Nancy Drew, who is now in her 30s, a detective for the NYPD where she investigates and solves crimes using her uncanny observational skills, all while navigating the complexities of life in a modern world.
