Alden Ehrenreich, welcome to the Star Wars family.
In a way, they were never going to get it right. Not unless they built a time-ship and traveled back thirty years or so Harrison Ford could still play Han Solo.

Deadline Hollywood first reported not so long ago that Alden Ehrenreich was the frontrunner, and now Variety is reporting that the actor will indeed play the beloved smuggler, first made famous by Harrison Ford.
Phil Lord and Chris Miller are set to direct, with Kathleen Kennedy producing.
No plot details are available as of this time, though the film has been confirmed to be set prior to “Star Wars: A New Hope,” just like “Rogue One”. Production on this film won’t begin until January of next year, though, so there’s plenty of time to get the script in tip-top shape, and maybe do a cameo in “Rogue One”?
The as of yet untitled Han Solo prequel is set to open in theaters on May 25, 2018.
