The first time I met Nicholas Hoult – I was dressed as a zombie in shoes two sizes two small for me and I felt like I was going to die all day. I was the crankiest I had ever been in my life because my feet hurt like no other. But he was so kind, gracious, and well, handsome. The second time was at an interview where he made me weak in the knees as he looked me right in the eyes for every question.
It was intimidating, but it’s Nicholas Hoult, so I didn’t care. He’s long been an actor I had a crush on and admired. I don’t know any movie of his that I haven’t watched.
But now it appears that I won’t be giving up my Hulu subscription, because he will be coming to the streaming service. Elle Fanning (Maleficent) and Nicholas Hoult (X-Men) are in talks to star in The Great, a limited series about Catherine the Great. Now sure, it hasn’t been picked up yet, but if it does – I will just buy a bigger size pant now, because I will be missing workouts to take in the show.
The Great is written by Tony McNamara, would chronicle the tumultuous relationship between Catherine the Great and her husband Peter, the Emperor of Russia. It would mark the first major TV roles for both actors. It would mark happiness for us.
Would you watch The Great?
