What happens when a therapist begins to blur the lines between professional and personal life? Well, we’re about to find out. Gypsy will be dropping on Netflix next Friday. The series looks at the life of therapist Jean Holloway (played by Naomi Watts) as she indulges in “personal fantasies” involving people in her clients’ lives. Hopefully this is setting off alarms in your head, because it’s definitely a recipe for disaster.
Netflix describes the show as a “psychological thriller.” The series will be told in ten episodes, all being released at once. Perfect for a weekend binge.
Also, all of the directors are all women. Sam Taylor-Johnson, Victoria Mahoney, and Coky Giedroyc directed the episodes. That’s definitely something we don’t see everyday.

As the borders of Jean’s professional life and personal fantasies become blurred, she descends into a world where the forces of desire and reality are disastrously at odds.
